 Sikaflex®
adhesives and sealants are extensively used in the construction
of a wide range of marine craft and structures. In fact everything
from pleasure yachts to passenger liners, fishing boats to
tankers, and canoes to oil rigs. Sikaflex® polyurethane
adhesive and sealant systems will provide a tough, waterproof,
yet flexible bond between a multitude of materials and can
be used with confidence above and below waterline.

Surface preparation
Correct surface preparation is the key to successful bonding.
In many instances, all that is required, with the Sikaflex®
Marine Product Line, is a simple cleaning operation, but where
there are weak or contaminated surfaces, more extensive preparation
is needed to ensure a perfect bond. Typical problem areas
include dust, dirt, grease, fat, oil, rust, flaking paint,
etc.
The actual pretreatment selected will depend on the type
of substrate (metal, plastic, paint, wood, etc.), the operating
conditions in service, the degree of surface deterioration
and the practicalities of any particular installation. Detailed
information can be obtained from your local Sika company.

Sika® Teak Maintenance System
The Sika® Teak Maintenance System consists of three products: Teak Cleaner, Teak Brightener and Teak Oil. These products have been developed to maintain perfect compatibility with a teak deck, which has been bonded and sealed with Sika products. The products are used to clean, refresh and protect a teak deck on boats, ships and yachts.

SikaFast® 3161
SikaFast® 3161 is a flexible, two component acrylic adhesive designed to efficiently transfer high loads and evenly distribute stresses. SikaFast®-3161 is a 10:1 two part structural adhesive designed to substitute or complement welding, riveting, clinching and other mechanical fastening techniques. SikaFast®-3161 is suitable for bonding sidewall panels, deck to hull, roofs, floors and parts made of aluminium, stainless or galvanized steel and fibre reinforced polymers.

Sikaflex®-290 DC
Sikaflex®-290 DC is a one-component
UV-resistant polyurethane based joint sealing compound specially
formulated for caulking joints in traditional timber marine
decking. The sealing compound cures to form a flexible elastomer
which can be sanded.

SikaColl 4600AU
SikaColl-4600AU is a sprayable contact adhesive that has been formulated to meet varied needs for laminate fabrication. This adhesive gives fast drying time, and a strong heat resistant and water resistant bond. SikaColl-4600AU has excellent green strength. In production SikaColl-4600AU is suitable for room temperature contact bonding of different covering materials e.g. PVC flooring, wood, rubber sheets and metal sheets even for covering materials with high spring-back forces.

SikaColl 4300FD
SikaColl-4300FD is a ready to use waterborne PUR dispersion contact adhesive with high initial strength and very good resistance against plasticizers. In addition, SikaColl-4300FD offers a short drying time in combination with a very long open time. Suitable substrates are wood, bare or coated metals, fibreglass, medium density fibreboard (MDF, manufactured of wood fibres), decorative and foamed foils, made of PVC, ABS, TPO or polyester and also foam backed textile coverings, carpets and floor covers.

Sika®Lastomer-511

SikaLastomer® 710
SikaLastomer-710 is a butyl rubber
based sealant, for general use in joint sealing.
The sealant does not harden, therefore permitting if necessary,
eventual dismantling of elements joined with SikaLastomer-710.
SikaLastomer-710 adheres to a large variety of materials without
the use of any primer, including glass, aluminium, wood, metal,
rubber, plastics etc.

Sika®Lastomer-711
SikaLastomer-711 is a high solids,
non hardening, non-drying, non-oxidising sealant, polybutylene
base modified with polymers, not listed as harmful or toxic
and without asbestos. It is designed as a sealant for rubber
EPDM gaskets. Predominantly used in applications in the manufacturing
industry, OEM Market or the Automotive After Market.

SikaDamp® 630 is a non-curing and lightweight self-adhesive mastic used for reduction of structure-borne vibration. Processed with an aluminium constraining layer, this material can be cut to specific size for each application. SikaDamp® 630 is suitable for any thin plate application from small appliances such as white goods (washing machines, fridges, etc) to marine applications as well as the automotive and transportation industry.

Sika Firesil®
Sika Firesil® is a one-component neutral-cure silicone sealant which cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture to form a durable elastomer.
